The book I purchased was a gift for my husband. The vendor we purchased from was great. It was Rules of Deception by Christopher Reich. He hasn't read it yet since I try to buy him at least 10 books at a time, however he has read other books by this author. The book was in perfect condition and arrived in a very timely manner. I would use them again and recommend them to other people.
Instead of the paper, I'd pick-up this book and just keep reading. Virtually all good books do. I'll tell you why: after attempting to read a few other books that just didn't hold my attention, this one made me late for work for nearly a week. Unlike the hyper-critical here, I give Mr. What fun is reality when you can have fantasy. Yes, of course.
I hope it's as good as this one.Were there some weak spots.

The plot, though far-fetched, was engaging and kept moving at a fast pace.

But they were over-shadowed by the great character development of the central figures.
But it looks like my wish will come true.
The author is coming out with a sequal later this summer and I can hardly wait.
Novels allow us a form of escapism and one needs to suspend belief with geopolitical and technical thrillers.
At any rate, this book is a great read and you'll be done in no time.
What a great premise and most of the book was up there in terms of thrillers and suspense way beyond the current drivel of unending and uninspired stories of templars, secret codes in archaeological digs, and ancient conspiracies that will serve to end the world today. The last 1/4 of the book is a speedy exercise in messy and convenient coincidences.I was disappointed enough to make me seriously consider if I would read the next book from Mr. There are multiple stories going on that are entwined and you can't read fast enough to see the resolution. But, and it's a big "but", the plot twist is ridiculous and the explanation behind it is almost an afterthought. Reich. It really could've been a great one but ended up flat.
I enjoyed how the plot kept twisting and their was alot of action in the story. I loved reading this book. I finished it in only a couple of days. Am definitely looking forward to the next book coming out in August. Would recommend it to anyone who loves these kinds of books.
Lemme tell you, there's no need to do that. An honest to goodness spy novel. Of course, now with Putin flexing his muscles, the CIA might see more action.This is my first Christopher Reich book so I didn't know what to expect at first. To plagarize a comment from below, that's the book trying to be too clever. On the basis of the book being easy to read, the characters being mildly likeable, I'll definitely try another Christopher Reich book. I do not like novels that begin in the middle of the story and doesn't explain stuff until you read along.
Having said that, the book was easy to read once I got past the first few chapters. I haven't seen many of these since the demise of the cold war. If your writing is good, your plot, your writing and the characters will keep your reader hooked, there is no need to resort to "clever" plot devices. The same thing with relationships, you don't really understand them until they are explained later on. I'd rather they were explained in the beginning so you know who's who. I thought there were 1 or 2 logic lapses where the events didn't make sense, but that's a minor quibble.
The fact that: I was able to put this book down a few days at a time before continuing, that I read this book a month ago, have read some other books since then and have not tried very hard to buy any of his other books will tell you how much I really like it, but I will definitely try another one.
